linia 2010-04-22 KAZIMIERZ DOLNY

Since April 18th, 2010 in the main hall of the synagogue in Kaziemierz Dolny (Lubelska St.) a photographic exhibition "Jewish Kazimierz" is presented. The photographs were taken by Zbigniew Jerzy Nita, a journalist and photographer for years involved in the Jewish topics. Many of his photos can be found at www.polin.org.pl website, created by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.

Over forty photographs remind about the multi-cultural past of Kazimierz Dolny. They are a great supplement for the permanent exhibition - pre-war photos of the town taken by Benedykt Jerzy Dorys. In Nita's photographs there are also contemporary scenes to be seen: staging o a Jewish wedding and wedding dances or a rabbi with a group of Israeli youths.
