Who are we

Sport School Complex, Middle School No.8

Since last year in our school exists the circle of interest realizing projects related to Holocaust.
The students were gathering informations about the destruction of Polish Jews during the World War II and the essays they wrote formed together a book of Holocaust. The school organized two trips to Auschwitz and Cracow. The visit to old Jewish district of Kazimierz inspired us to take part in the program. 

We will try to find traces of Jewish culture in our town. Before the war the Jews were 60% of the inhabitants of Białystok and today there is practically no trace left of them. We would like to bring back the memory of the times when Białystok was a town of many cultures and religions.

What we do in the project

During the lessons we would like to find the traces of Jewish community living in our town before the World War II. We will try to prepare a tourist route which will link all the places related to Jewish culture and religion. There are so few of them in Białystok today!
