After two months of work a group of sociologists invited the community of Middle School No.4 for the Oxford debate, during which a thesis was proposed that Jews and Poles coexisted peacefully in Silesia. It caused many various comments. Luckily there was a vigilant Marshal: Patrycja Dworowy and her two secretaries: Alicja Koczubik and Bartłomiej Radwan, to watch the agenda. Every student could acquaint with the statistical data prepared as schemes, graphs and tables, as well as colorful definitions of following concepts: stereotype, tolerance, xenophobia. The materials were attracting attention of the curious participants. Adversaries and followers stated their opinions gathered on the basis of literature:

After the speakers’ presentations, the auditorium voted, opting most often for the followers of the above thesis. In the end the “Skowronki” choir sang a song “Tolerance”. The authors of the best translation of the “Tolerance” song received book prizes.
What are the rules of the Oxford debate? The teacher formulates a thesis as a clearly precised sentence and determines the time of a speech. He chooses a Marshal who will chair the meeting and his secretaries who care for the time of speeches for both blocks. He also chooses the auditorium (the public of the followers) and the adversaries (with their public as well) of the thesis, and amongst them main speakers. The students who will not make part of any of blocks would be in the neutral audience.
