The directives were:
1. Plan a sightseeing trip to a Jewish cemetery – without forgetting to inform local Jewish Religious Community about your visit.
2. Remember the proper
behaviour on the cemetery (males should cover the head with kippah).
3. Gather photographic evidence of the sepulchral symbols and later try to (basing on material available on websites and in literature) decipher the mysteries hidden in them.
4. Present the results of your research in form of multimedia presentation. The pictures were taken during the Gliwickie Dni Dziedzictwa Kulturowego (Days of Cultural Heritage in Gliwice
) on the cemetery in Wielowies, established in the second half of the 17th century. The current caretaker of the cemetery is Grzegorz Kaminski, history teacher from elementary school in Wielowies who together with the students from the school takes care of the cemetery. The matzevot, despite the passing time, look good.
