During our last meeting we have been speaking about sweets typical for the Jewish cuisine (Banana Cake, Challah, Zabaione, Figs with Caramel Sauce, Raisin Pie, Almond and Citron Cake, Zimsterne cookies…)
Still, it were the Hamantaschen which caught everyone’s attention- those sweet, triangular cookies filled with poppy seeds, prepared at home by the girls and served on Purim day. During the meeting we learned not only the recipe for Hamantaschen, but also the story behind them, the story about Ahasuerus, Mordechai, Vashti, Esther, Haman…
It is worth adding that our Hamantaschen enjoyed great popularity among the students and teachers of our school!
