Students of the first classes of the Middle School No. 94 in Warsaw spent last two months exploring the Jewish culture under supervision of their teacher, Jolanta Waskiewicz. Three classes had a lecture in the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, where they learned how the synagogue looks like, how to wear yarmulke, how to read a Jewish calendar, and how to decipher the Jewish letters. Later, working in teams, they were passing the knowledge on to their colleagues.
In December each of the three classes formed a three people team to participate in the contest. Posters (see the pictures!) were placed all in the school building. Mrs Waskiewicz prepared questions, and our vice headmaster, Mr Kamola, was the president of the jury. Students of the 1st and 3rd year became a public.
The contestants have proven themselves to be real experts on the subject! The main prize went to 1d class, and the second prize, after few overtimes, ended up in the hands of the students of 1c and 1b classes together.
