  Frampol, lubelskie

Jewish cemetery in Frampol was established in half of 18th century. On the cemetery there are about 85 matzevot left. During World War II on the cemetery there was a mass execution of Jews. About 1000 citizens of Poland, Austria and Slovakia of Jewish origin were shot to death. The place was commemorated after the war with metal plaque and surrounded by metal chain. The necropolis is being cleaned up by students of Elementary School from Frampol. On September 2nd 2005 the cemetery was officially taken over by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The Foundation aims to commemorate and preserve the place of common graves and to fence the cemetery. More information:
