On March 15th, 2012 at the ‘Synagogue’ Center of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland a meeting promoting the first issue of a periodical ‘Jewish Studies. Almanac’ took place. The ‘Almanac’ is published by the State Higher School of Vocational Education in Zamosc www.pwszzamosc.pl. The Editor in Chief is Professor Konrad Zielinski.

In the periodical there are not only articles about the town of Zamosc and the region, but also texts concerning widely understood culture and history of Jews, contemporary Polish-Jewish relations as well as studies concerning Israel and the Middle East. Regarding the magnificent cultural heritage of Zamosc, a town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, articles relating to art history, especially Jewish art, will also be published in the ‘Almanac’.
