The non-governmental organization from Lublin, the ‘Well of Memory’ Association, is a partner of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland in the project Creating a team of cultural animators for the ‘Synagogue’ Center. The project will be implemented between March and December 2012 with the support of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.

The ‘Well of Memory’ Association is a non-governmental organization which undertakes and supports social, educational and cultural initiatives designed to broaden historical and civic awareness. The Association works to preserve the remembrance of people and places, commemorates anniversaries and events related to the Holocaust, takes care of relics of the past. Members of the organization are involved in the education dealing with the history and culture of Jews in Lublin Region, as well as the policy of memory and Holocaust education. Through their activities they promote issues of human rights and freedoms, civil liberties and seek to prevent discrimination.

The ‘Well of Memory’ Association will support the merits of the actions within the project. Its members will lead part of the training for volunteers by sharing their knowledge and experience in conducting cultural and educational activities. Association’s educators will also support work on preparation of the workshops for school pupils, which will be carried out in Autumn 2012.
