The "Synagogue" Center of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland is pleased to invite you to a Radoslaw Majewski - Szlazak's lecture: "Ladino - the forgotten language of dreams."
You will hear the history of Ladino language, that developed in the Iberian Peninsula and in eastern Europe over the centuries, from the 14th to the 21st century. We will learn about the scope of this language, its historical and present users. Some part of the lecture will also be devoted to grammar and the way Ladino is written.
We will get to know both ladino literature relics and the language presence in pop culture.
Radosław Majewski-Szlązak, graduated Judaic and Classical Philology at the University of Wrocław. His scientific interests concern on folk songs in Ladino and Greek. Co-author of the scientific project "Silence of Macewas" - the inventory of Jewish cemeteries. He is in love with Jewish music and Sephardic poetry.
The lecture will take place on June 21st, 2017 (Wednesday) at 6:30 pm in the "Synagogue" Center. Free admission.
