The Zamość Photographic Society and the "Synagogue" Center of The Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland invite to XXVIII Zamość Meeting with Photography.
On October 1, 2019 at 6 pm at the "Synagogue" Center will held a meeting with Wojtek
Lembryk, a traveler and photographer from Zamość. Wojtek will present photographs taken during his two trips to Burma (Myanmar) - a country still undiscovered and
mysterious.
Located in the center of intensively explored by tourist southeastern Asia, Burma still remains relatively rare visited by travelers. It is characterized by authentic, rich civilization legacy and religious tradition (not without reason Burma is called the "beating heart" of Buddhism), as well as unique cultural and sociological deeply cultivated long-term traditions. We will hear about the habits of tribes living in Burma's hard accessible locations. At the meeting we will see photographs of women with tattoos made on their faces (Daai Chin ethnic group) or women with brass rims around their necks (Kayan tribe, the so-called "longnecks").
