The "Synagogue" Center of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland is pleased to invite you to the exhibition of paintings by Edyta Gałan entitled "TreeStands". The works will be presented from Wednesday, May 5th.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 5 p.m. in the Zamość at Pereca 14 St.
This is what Edyta Gałan writes about herself and her paintings:
“I love trees for a long time and I spent a lot of time in their crowns and climbed them as a child, teenager, and I do it to this day. Trees are also one of my favorite subject in my paintings and photos.
Painting gives me joy, so unconditional, independent of anything tha lies outside of me.
There are trees, forests, fields, paths and clouds in my works. There is light, color, silence and a longing for a space free from signs of our human presence. "
I come from the Zamość region and I had the great pleasure of learning in the Fina Art High School in Zamość, so I have nice memories of this city, although Zamość looked completely different that time. Later, I studied at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, at the Faculty of Arts. It is interesting that I chose graphics, not painting as my specialization, but my choice was influenced by other factors. And so I finished my studies with a diploma made in the technique of lithography, which simply charmed me.
Later, for a very long time, I did not pain. I did artistic handicrafts, furniture restoring, and walls decorative painting.
I get back to painting a year ago and I don't want to end this friendship anymore. "
The exhibition will be presented at the FODŻ "Synagogue" Center until the end of May 2021.
