On August 4th, 2011 in the ‘Synagogue’ Center an international meeting of Polish and Israeli high school students, co-organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and Brener High School from Israel, took place. The meeting was organized within the framework of the ‘Haverim – Friends. Polish-Jewish youth meetings’ project.
Students from Zamość schools and their colleagues from Israel met with Halina Błaszczyk, a Righterous Amongst the Nations, who told her story of saving Jews during World War II.
The students were also guided around the ‘Synagogue’ Center building and participated in a workshop dedicated to the memory about common Polish-Jewish heritage. The meeting ended with a common walk around Zamość Old Town.
