On August 25th, 2011 an educational walk ‘Following the traces of Zamość Jews’ was organized by the the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.
The participants met in front of the 'Synagogue' Center (the renovated Renaissance synagogue in the Old Town). During the walk, tourists were acquainted with the history of Zamość Jewish community since its beginning in the 16th century until the tragic times of the Shoah. The participants heard fragments of testimonies, biographies and historical accounts by the former Jewish inhabitants of Zamość and Holocaust survivors. The ‘Synagogue’ Center building was the last stop of the tour, where the Multimedia Museum of the History of the Jews of Zamość and Surrounding Area were presented to the group.
