Jewish cemetery in Zielona Gora is located on Chmielna St. The cemetery was established on a square bought in 1814. First Jews settled in Zielona Gora in 1812. In 1833 there were 176 Jews in the town, in 1939 - only 30. The cemetery was devastated during World War II. The cemetery is 0.5 ha.

From 2003 the necropolis belongs to the Foundation of the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The area was cleaned up by local scouts’ group. In 2005 some matzevot were found just few meters from the wall. They were temporary secured in the cemetery chapel – after clearing and registering they are to be put on the cemetery. There is an information plaque too. Among the people buried there is i.a. Izaak Levysohn, publisher of the first gazette in Zielona Gora ,"Gruenberger Wochenblatt".
