On March 1st, 2010 a representative of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland together with delegates of the Catholic University of Lublin met with the Reverend Waclaw Depo, PhD, the Ordinary Bishop of the Zamosc-Lubaczow Diocese.
The aim of the meeting was to present the Foundation’s project “Revitalization of the Renaissance synagogue in Zamosc for the needs of the Chassidic Route and the local community” as well as activities that will be implemented in the restored synagogue in cooperation with the University. The Bishop stated his support for the project and declared that he would participate in the ceremony of opening the restored synagogue, which will take place in December 2010.
