On June 24th 2010 the exhibition of David Tremlett, whose works could be seen in the Zamosc synagogue during the Ideal City - Invisible Cities exhibition in 2006, was opened at Hamburger Kunsthalle. The exhibition Drawing Rooms. Wall Drawings for the Gallery of Contemporary Art will be on view until October 31st. 2010.
David Tremlett (*1945 in Sticker, Cornwall, GB) is one of the most important British artists of his generation. His exhibition at Hamburger Kunsthalle is the first one person show in a German museum since 1992. The artist has had solo exhibitions in renowned museums like the Tate Gallery, London; MoMA, New York, the Centre Pompidou, Paris and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and participated in numerous group exhibitions, amongst them Harald Szeemann's legendary documenta 5.
A comprehensive catalogue of the exhibition will be published in September, featuring texts by Sabrina van der Ley, Martina Fuchs and others. The catalogue will be available at the museum shop and online at http://www.freunde-der-kunsthalle.de and www.freunde-der-kunsthalle.de.
