Thanks to the efforts of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland cleanup works were carried out at the Jewish cemetery in Zielona Gora. Within its framework a memorial plaque was installed on the cemetery grounds, a repair pit, last remnant of the old car repair shop, was demolished and the vicinity of the preburial house was cleaned up by the inhabitants of the city. Jewish cemetery in Zielona Gora was established on a square bought in 1814. In 1833 there were 176 Jews in the city, in 1939 - only 30. The cemetery was devastated during World War II and first cleaned up by the Foundation in 2005.
