On October 21, 2011, a lecture was given at the Jewish cemetery in Dzierzoniow within the framework of the local edition of the Lower Silesian Festival of Science. The lecture, given by Anna Gruzlewska, teacher at the local High School and a doctoral candidate in the Institute of History of the University of Wroclaw, was entitled “Jewish cemetery in Dzierzoniow – historical monument of local Jews”. Participating were the pupils of local schools and the students of the Jewish Studies Institute of the Wroclaw University under tutelage of Prof. Dr. Hab. Marcin Wodzinski and Dr. Joanna Lisek.
The Jewish cemetery in Dzierzoniow was cleaned up by the inmates of the local prison facility, in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, within the framework of the „Tikkun – Restoration” project, realized by the Israeli and Polish Prison Services.
