From April to mid-June 2012 series of workshops for volunteers participating in the project
Creating a team of cultural animators for the ‘Synagogue’ Center was carried out in the ‘Synagogue’ Center of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The aim of workshops was to prepare its participants to organize educational and cultural events.
By training young people gained knowledge and skills within the matter of teamwork, event organization, cultural and educational project management, as well as cultural animation. Volunteers were also prepared for professional guiding in the building of the ‘Synagogue’ Center and for educational work with school students. They will use the acquired knowledge in practice from July by supporting visitors service at the ‘Synagogue’ Center. Volunteers will also prepare educational offer of the Center, which they will implement in autumn.
The series of workshops for volunteers was prepared and carried out by educators of the ‘Well of Memory’ Association and by the Coordinator of the ‘Synagogue’ Center. As a part of training the study tour to Jewish historical sites in the region was organized. During the tour volunteers met with local animators and educators who shared their experiences in cultural and educational activities.
