Cleanup works were completed on the Jewish cemetery in Szczebrzeszyn, preceding the 2nd stage of building of a wall around ther cemetery grounds. The project is being realized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Heritage Foundation for Preservation of Jewish Cemeteries - Avoyseinu.

The Jewish cemetery in Szczebrzeszyn had been established in the 16th century and was used until the World War II. Over 400 matzevot has survived there.
