Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland signed an agreement with the Jan Karski Association from Kielce. Within its framework the Foundation will be providing substantive support to the actions undertaken by the Association as part of the “Citizen Initiative” program. Within its framework the Association will establish a Place of Memory and Reflection inside the former Zagajski synagogue, which is about to be relocated to a new spot nearby the Jewish cemetery in Kielce.

The synagogue was built in 1922 on the initiative of Herschl Zagajski. During the World War II the Germans devastated the building, which was used as a warehouse after the war.
