On January 27th, 2014 in order to honor the International Holocaust Remembrance Day representatives of a partner organization of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, the Leon Karciński Christian Community of Nowy Zmigrod Association, paid tribute to the Holocaust victims. Candles were lit on a mass grave of 1250 Jews in Halbowa and at a memorial plaque in Nowy Zmigrod. A prayer for the Holocaust victims was said in the local parish church.
