2014-05-12 GLOGOW MALOPOLSKI
On May 12, 2014, a rededication ceremony took place on the Jewish cemetery in Glogow Malopolski. The ceremony was organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland in cooperation with the Town Office of Glogow Malopolski.
The old Jewish cemetery in Glogow Malopolski was established in 1712 on today’s Sienkiewicza St. In the 1930’s it stopped being used as a burial site and after the war a park was established on its grounds. Tombstones were not preserved. Between 2012-2013 a wall was built around the cemetery grounds, which were cleaned up during the process, and an ohel was erected over the graves of tzaddiks of Glogow. The works were sponsored by the descendants of the local Jews – Urri and Cochava Rubin and their family and carried out by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. » back See also galeries: GLOGOW MALOPOLSKI.
