Between May 26 and May 28, 2006, a representative of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland attended a conference entitled "The Ksiaz Castle in the Riese complex", which took place at the Ksiaz Castle.
"AL Riese" was a cryptonym of 13 labor camps located in the Sowie Mountains, and belonging to the Gross-Rosen concentration camp. At these camps, located in places like Kolce (Dornhau), Olszyniec (Erlenbusch), Sokolec (Falkenberg), Książ (Furstenstein), Zimna (Kaltwasser) and at the Sobon (Larche) Mountain c. thirteen thousand Jews from Poland, Greece, Hungary and Yugoslavia were imprisoned.
