On May 11, 2021, scouts from the Scouting Association of the Republic of Poland in Głogówek, Mayors Piotr Bujak and Anna Barysz, councilor Grzegorz Thiel as well as officials and technical staff of the Municipality of Głogówek carried out cleaning of the old Jewish cemetery in this town, located in the Prudnik District, Opole Voivodeship. This action was carried out in the framework of cooperation between FODZ and local authorities of Głogówek, inaugurated by the conclusion of a loan agreement for the Jewish cemetery. It is a worthy of following example of activities by the Coalition of Guardians of Jewish Cemeteries in Poland, which is not only a tangible expression of care for a common heritage, but also of a joint effort in this regard. We take this opportunity to thank once again the youth and local authorities of Głogówek for their commitment to maintaining the memory of the former Jewish community of this town.
