On May 16-17, 2022, in Nasielsk, a solemn ceremony of unveiling symbolic gate leading to the Jewish cemetery located at Kwiatowa Street as well as other accompanying events took place. They were attended by descendants of the former Jewish community of Nasielsk, associated in the Nasielsk Association of Remembrance and Reconciliation, as well as numerous representatives of the local community and local authorities and a group of young people from local schools. The initiator of these events, including educational projects carried out by local schools as part of a multi-month program, was Mr. Glenn Kurtz, president of the Nasielsk Association of Remembrance and Reconciliation. The events in Nasielsk were also accompanied by Polish premiere of the film "Three Minutes Suspended in Time", which was shown on May 15, as part of the international film festival "Docs Against Gravity". The meetings on 16-17 of May were primarily an expression of care for the preservation of the memory of the Jewish population who once lived in Nasielsk and in the immediate vicinity, and who were killed in such a cruel way by the Nazi occupiers. They also had an important educational dimension. They allowed us to state that the memory of the local Jewish community will be preserved also in the next generations, which in the coming years will take responsibility for the further development of Poland and shaping its role and place in the international community.
