On the eve of the upcoming Yom Kippur holiday, the Foundation of the Preservation of Jewish Heritage (FODŻZ led to the clean-up of the area in the town of Gołdap, where there is an Monument commemorating the former local Jewish community, which was murdered by the Germans in the years 1933 – 1945. The Monument was erected in 1998 on the site of a synagogue burned during the Kristallnacht on the night from November 9 to 10, 1938. We take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Marta Brzezińska from the Municipal Services Company in Gołdap for her help in cleaning up the area of the local synagogue.
