Thanks to the support of the Nissenbaum Family Foundation, overgrown vegetation was cleared from the Jewish cemetery in Szczebrzeszyn, which is owned by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.
The cemetery is the burial place of thousands of people who died over the centuries. It contains matzevot dating back to 1545, as well as mass graves of Holocaust victims.
The cemetery is cared for on a daily basis by Mr. and Mrs. Siostrzankowski, who carry out basic maintenance work.
Thank you!
