In September 2006 the Foundation for the Preservation of the Jewish Heritage in Poland, together with a German film producing company, Tvschoenfilm, finalized a project of demolishing a building of a former Gestapo prison in Izbica (near Zamosc), built during World War II of matzevot taken from the Izbica Jewish cemetery. After the demolition works were completed, the matzevot returned to the cemetery and were fixed to the walls of an ohel of tzaddik Joseph Mordechai Leiner. All the works were filmed by Tvschoenfilm; the materials will be used to make a documentary, which will be shown by the ARD German television station.

The Foundation and Tvschoenfilm are now raising funds that will allow to clear up and fence the cemetery.
