In one of the stone-cuttig workshops in Chelm (lubelskie province) a number of matzevot was discovered, together with tombstones taken from German and Russian cemeteries. They were probably all waiting to be ground and re-used. The discovery was made by the workshops's new owner, who informed our Foundation about it. Currently the matter is being investigated by the police - the investigation is hindered by the fact that the previous workshop's owner had passed away.
