On 16th of June 2005 cleanup works on the 19th century Jewish cemetery in Hajnówka have started. The cemetery is picturesquely located in the woods and the matzevot are very well preserved. Their condition allows to rewrite the names and to make a list of people buried there. The works were conducted by prisoners from the Investigation Arrest in Hajnówka and supervised by the Rabbinical Commission, which is supported by the Foundation.
