It with sadness that we have to inform of another act of vandalism which took place in Białystok during the last few days. On Sunday morning a painted swastika was discovered on the memorial table commemorating the place where the house of Ludwik Zamenhof, the creator of Esperanto language, used to be. More swastikas and “Jude raus” slogans were painted on the neighboring houses.

Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland informed the police in Bialystok that a crime has been committed. The investigation is under way.
