Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland gladly informs you that on the last weekend of October 2007, as usual every year, a group of members of the "Meeting Rymanow" Society cleaned up the surroundings of the resting place of the Jewish soldiers fighting alongside the Austrian army during the World War I. 8 graves and a stone tombstone emerged again from the dense, sharp grass. The actions taken at the Jewish cemetery in Rymanow, one of the towns located on the
Chassidic Route, are a realization of the main goal of the Society, which is to preserve the memory of the multicultural heritage of the town. Currently the Society is gathering archive material and documents concerning the soldiers’ resting place, and hopes to start soon the renovation of the graves. Everyone interested in becoming a partner of the “Meeting Rymanow” Society is welcomed to join the works.
