Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland gladly informs you that a dozen of antique tombstones, found few years ago in a park in Staszow during the sanitation of the Czarna river, were returned to the local Jewish cemetery. The tombstones were excavated and kept under protection by Mr Pawel Ciepiela, inhabitant of Staszow, who last week, after consulting the case with the Foundation, has transported them back to the cemetery along with Mr Andrzej Szaniawski and Mr Lukasz Goleba. Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland wishes to express our sincere thanks to all persons involved, for taking care of the matzevot and for returning them to the Jewish cemetery.
