On December 12, 2007, celebrations of the 100th anniversary of awarding the Nobel Prize to A.A. Michelson took place in Strzelno, the town where the laureate was born in a Jewish family. Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, along with the Union of Jewish Communities in Poland have jointly assumed the patronage over this event.
