Once again unknown perpetrators have devastated the Jewish cemetery in Augustow. 5 out of 16 matzevot were sprayed with black paint, and covered with Nazi slogans and swastikas. The local police was informed about this act on Friday afternoon by an inhabitant of the city. As for now it remains unknown when this act of vandalism could have happened and who is responsible. The police are currently searching for the culprits, and the staff of the Town Council in Augustow will repair the damage. (source: www.jewish.org.pl)
