In the middle of the night of March 4-5, 2008 the ohel of Tzaddik Elimelech at the Jewish cemetery in Lezajsk has fallen prey to vandals. Giant svastikas, Star of David on the gallows, and antisemitic slogans were spraypainted on the walls of the building. Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland informed the authorities of the incident.
