On November 4, 2008, the celebrations related to the 66th anniversary of the liquidation of the local ghetto took in Ciechanowiec (podlaskie province) on the initiative of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The program included unveilings of a memorial stone at the Jewish cemetery and a memorial tablet at the synagogue building, finally a common prayer at the monument of the Jews executed by the Nazis in Pobikry. The event was organized by the Town Hall of Ciechanowiec and the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. On the same day a training for students members of the 'Let's Talk - European Debates About Values' was carried out by the animators provided by the Foundation in the local Pope John Paul II Middle School. Participating were the students of the schools in Ciechanowiec and Nur (mazowieckie province).
