In the Polish Consulate in New York an exhibition “The Jews of Czestochowa. Coexistence-Holocaust-Memory” will be held from November 2nd to 10th 2005. This exhibition recounts the spirit and vitality of Czestochowa's Jewish community, once an integral part of this city. Before World War II, Czestochowa was home to over 35,000 Jews, a third of the city's population. Today, fewer than 100 Jews live there.
EXHIBITION HOURS: Monday through Friday 9:30AM – 5PM, Wednesday 9:30AM – 7PM, Saturday and Sunday 11AM – 7PM.
LOCATION: Polish Consulate, 233 Madison Avenue (NE corner of 37th and Madison).
