We are happy to inform you that the Rev. Jerzy Popieluszko Foundation for the Benefit of the High School in Suchowola, partner of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, received funding from the part of "Equal Chances' program of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation for the realization of the 'Our Multicultural Suchowola' project. Their project is one of the five projects from podlaskie province to receive financial support and will be realized in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.
Following actions will be taken within the frames of the project:

- historical material will be gathered and a leaflet will be published, presenting the history, everyday life and relations between Poles, Tatars and Jews of Suchowola;
- picture exhibition will be organized in the public space of the town, in the windows of the former synagogue building, along with a happening on multicultural values;
- a meeting with the representatives of the Tatar religious community and students of the High School will be organized;
- a meeting with Mr. Edmund Gabrel, witness of the history of multicultural community of Suchowola will be organized;
- a lesson on multiculturality tradition in Suchowola will be carried out by the students;

The cooperation between the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Rev. Jerzy Popieluszko Foundation for the Benefit of the High School in Suchowola was initiated within the frames of the frames of the 'Research on the Attitude Towards Jews and Their Heritage.
