On December 13, 2008, the screening of the 'Alien VI' movie directed by Borys Lankosz, awarded with Silver Phoenix Award at the 'Jewish Motifs' Festival in Warsaw, took place in the building of the Community Office in Medyka. A discussion with the Director took place afterwards, along with the ceremonial opening of the picture exhibition presenting the results of the 'On the Footsteps of the Jews of Medyka' photo contest, organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Friends of Medyka Association, and a presentation of the Israeli dance performed by the students from Medyka. 25 people participated in the meeting.
The action was organized within the framework of the 'Research on the Attitude Towards Jews and Their Heritage. Cooperation with Local Partners in Selected 15 Towns. Education for Tolerance' program, supported by the Batory Foundation. The movie was made within the framework of the ’30 Minutes’ program of the Polish Filmmakers’ Association.
