During the preservation works at the road building site in Lowicz two matzevot were found underground. Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland took immediate steps to preserve the historical tombstones, which probably were taken from the local Jewish cemetery during the war. They will be transported to the Jewish cemetery in Lowicz in nearest future. The works were temporarily stopped and the site is being searched for other matzevot that may be hidden underground.
