On March 19, 2009 a ceremony of commemoration of the local Jewish community took place in Siedlce. Participating were the representatives of the Town Hall, Jewish Community, students of local schools and Israeli students visiting Siedlce, among the latter the descendants of the Siedlce Jews. Before the ceremony Polish and Jewish students together documented the remaining matzevot and the Vice-president of Siedlce placed flowers on a mass grave of local Jews murdered during the Holocaust.
A memorial tablet commemorating the Jewish community of Siedlce, financed by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Jewish Community of Warsaw was unveiled on the cemetery wall. A Star of David - shaped road marker funded by Michael Traison Fund for Poland was placed on an access road to the cemetery.
Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland was co-organizing the meeting, in which participated nearly 100 students, teachers and guests.
A thank-you letter from Michael Traison
