We sadly report that an act of vandalism took place at the Jewish cemetery in Chrzanow (malopolskie province). Unknown perpetrators damaged 50 matzevot. The staff of local museum reported the act to the police; investigation is underway. It is estimated that the necessary repairs might cost as much as 75 thousand zlotys.
The cemetery in Chrzanow was renovated in 2007 thanks to the cooperation between the local authorities and the Jewish community.
