On May 4, 2009, Chassidic Jews from all over the world came to Slubice to pay homage to Rabbi Joseph Theomim, known as Pri Megadim, buried at the local Jewish cemetery.
Thanks to the efforts of the Jewish societies and personal involvement of Rabbi Berel Polatsek of New York the war-torn cemetery was cleaned and a memory tablet was unveiled there in 1999.
In 2004 three matzevot were placed at the cemetery grounds, dedicated to illustrious Rabbis of Slubice; Mendl von Podheiz, Joseph Meir Theomim and Yehuda Leib Margaliot. In 2008, the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland completed the remaining part of a a fence surrounding the cemetery.
The representative of the Foundation was present at the ceremony in Slubice, led by Rabbi Polatsek.
