Roof renovation works are over in 19th century old synagogue in Kolno. The inside of the synagogue is still being renovated. In the future the synagogue building will host a tourist center which will serve visitors coming to this part of Poland, including numerous Jewish groups from all over the world. Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland is one of the partners of this project.
In 2005 the local Jewish cemetery was fenced and cleaned up under the Foundation’s supervision, thanks to generosity of an anonymous donor, a descendant of a Kolno Jewish family, and rabbi Shlomo Besser from the International Committee for the Preservation of Jewish Memorial Sites.» back
