On Sunday, November 8, 2009, a memorial tablet commemorating the 70th anniversary of the expulsion of 2500 Jews from Sierpc by Nazi Germans during the World War II was ceremonially unveiled at the local Jewish cemetery.
The project was supported by town councilman Kazimierz Czerminski, in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Sierpc History Documentation Studio. Delegation of the Foundation was present at the ceremony.
