On February 1st 2006 a branch of the City Pedagogical Library was officially opened in a Foundation’s building in Leszno, according to an agreement signed with the city’s authorities. Before the WWII the property belonged to the local Jewish community. The library management plans that the building will now house various cultural events, reminding people about the multicultural and multinational past of Leszno. At present an interesting exhibition of 17th century maps by Jonas Scultetus, a Leszno citizen, is shown in the library. The exhibition will be opened until the end of February.
