On January 27th, 2011 the celebration of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day took place in Bialystok. It was co-organized by the Centre for Citizenship Education Poland-Israel, the Faculty of Philology of the University and the US Embassy in Warsaw.

The ceremony took place in the aula of the Faculty of Philology. The program of the event included the opening of an exhibition “Living On” by Robert Heller (School of Journalism and Electronic Media, University of Tennessee), brought to Poland by Victor Ashe, former US Ambassador in Poland, a lecture delivered by Daniel Sainz, Political Advisor of the US Embassy in Warsaw, and a movie "8 Stories That Haven't Changed The World” by Ivo Krankowski and Jan Spiewak.
